How do I find jobs on this site?

To look for current roles you can use our search function by selecting ‘Search for a job’ from the main menu.

Once in this page, use the drop down menus and tick boxes to select the options you wish to search against. To select more than one option, simply hold ‘Ctrl’ (or apple key for Apple Mac) when making your choices.

Once you’ve clicked on ‘Search’, all the jobs that match your selection will be displayed on the page for you. To view the full details of a particular job, you will need to click on the underlined Job Title. This will give you an opportunity to apply online and also download the job description to your computer.

How can I make my search more specific?

The more options you select from the drop down menus and tick boxes, the more specific your search will be.

If you’ve seen a vacancy advertised somewhere and know the specific job number, you can enter this into the ‘Keyword or job number’ box. When you click on ‘Search’ at the bottom of the page, you will be directed straight to that job.

Another option is to enter a job title or a keyword that describes the type of job you’re looking for into the ‘Keyword/reference number’ box. For example, if you’re looking for a Clerical job, you could enter ‘Clerical Officer’ or ‘Clerical’ and this will take you to all Clerical jobs on the site.

Once you’ve made all your selections, click on ‘Search’ at the bottom of the page. Don’t forget, you can also decide how many jobs you want to view per page – simply click on the relevant number against ‘Results per page’.

Once you’ve clicked on Search, all the jobs that match your selection will be displayed on the page for you. To view the full details of a particular job, you will need to click on the underlined Job Title. This will take you to the full details of the vacancy and give you an opportunity to apply online. You will also be able to download the job description to your computer.

Can I send jobs to a friend?

Yes you can. Simply click on the ‘Email a friend’ link and follow the online instructions. You can add a personal message and they receive the email it will include a link to the job so that they can apply straight away.

How do I apply for a job?

Once you’ve clicked on a job title and displayed the details of the job you’re interested in, you will need to click the ‘Apply’ button at the bottom of the page.

How do I complete the application form?

Once you’ve clicked on the ‘Apply’ button, you will be taken to the ‘Candidate homepage’. If you have not previously applied for a job on the site, you will need to register. Follow the online instructions to create a user ID and password. You will only need to do this once.

If you have previously applied for a job on the site, you will need to log in using your username and password. Any information you have previously entered will be shown on the next page and will be attached to your current application.

You will then need to follow the online instructions to complete your job application. Please make sure you follow each step and complete all fields that have a red asterix (*) alongside them. When you have completed all fields on a page, click on ‘Next’ to move to the next page.

There are lots of things to think about when you’re applying for a job. When you’re busy with other things, it’s easy to overlook some of the detail. We have prepared some Top tips for job applications which we hope will make the process a little easier for you.

Can I save my application and come back later?

Yes you can. To do this at any stage of your application, simply click on ‘Save application’ at the bottom of the page. You can go back to your Candidate homepage at any time to continue your application. When you get to step 5, you will have the opportunity to either type in your covering letter or to attach it as a separate document. When you have completed all screens, you will see a Save application button at the bottom of the page. You will need to click on this to apply for the vacancy.

I have made a mistake – what can I do?

Don’t panic. If you make a mistake, and want to clear the form you can click on ‘Cancel submission’. Or else you can simply go back and correct your mistake by clicking on ‘Previous’.

What is the Candidate homepage?

Once you’ve registered on the site, you will be able to log-in to your Candidate homepage at any time to:

  • Complete an application you have previously saved
  • Apply for other jobs
  • Change your personal information
  • View your job application history
  • Change your password.

To do this, you will need to click on ‘Returning Candidates’ at the top of the homepage and then simply enter your user ID and password.

Can I get a Password Reminder?

Yes you can. If you do forget your password at any time, you can simply click on ‘Forgot password?’ on the Log in page to receive a reminder via email.

How do I change my personal details?

It is important we have your most up-to-date details. You can update your personal information at any time, by simply clicking on ‘Update your personal information’ on the Candidate homepage. Once you have updated your details, don’t forget to press ‘Save’.

I’m having problems applying online

Can I receive job alerts by email?

Yes you can. Simply select the type of role(s) you are interested in and enter your email address, and we will send jobs that match your requirements direct to your inbox when they are added to the site. So, if you can’t find anything of interest now, register online and let the vacancies come to you! To register you can either:

  • Click on the ‘Register for alerts’ button at the top of the homepage
  • Or click on ‘Job alerts’ in the ‘Top links’ box on the right of the homepage

How do I register with the Talent Pool?

If you can’t find your perfect job right now, you can register for our talent pool, tell us what jobs you are interested in and we will contact you when a suitable vacancy arises.

You will find a link to the registration form on the homepage. Once you’ve completed the form, we will automatically consider you for any vacancies that meet your skills and contact you to discuss before submitting your details to the employer.
