The Opportunity:

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Contracts and Projects Officer to join our Operations team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Contracts & Projects Manager, you will ensure the smooth delivery of projects, support with all Operations contracts and assist with the planning and management of the inspection programmes and maintenance of operational sites in the district, ensuring routine maintenance and repairs are completed on time and to specification.

You will take ownership of smaller projects, be heavily involved with capital and annual plan projects and support the team in managing project finances, including the raising of purchase orders and invoices, as well as updating financial trackers and budget sheets. 

Responsibilities will also include maintaining and updating the Operations Contracts Register, managing contract renewals and support within agreed timeframes, supporting the management of applications for Traffic Regulation Orders and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders and helping with all event requests in our parks and open spaces.

The Experience You Will Bring:

Operations is a fast paced and varied Service within the Council and this post would suit a highly motivated individual with a can do and ‘thinking outside the box’ attitude. We are looking for an individual who is equally happy to work in an office environment and outside all year round. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and proven experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Power Point is a must. 

Candidates should possess a full clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
