Essex County Council are delighted to be working in partnership with North Herts Council to recruit the role of Temporary Enterprise Project Officer.
Please note this is a temporary position for a period of 3 months, with the potential to be extended or even evaluated for a permanent position. This role offers flexible working with the expectation of being in the office 2 days per week.

The Role
To work with the Enterprise Manager to deliver the Enterprise strategy and work programme, including leading project delivery, to support the Council’s corporate and financial objectives.
To be the Council responsible officer for developing and expanding existing internal services and working with Council officers to explore ideas, assist in developing business plans and if approved, work with the relevant department to implement to increase income, better surpluses, and /or more efficiencies.
The responsibilities
- Enterprise and Projects:
- Innovate commercial approaches and explore new partnerships.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring risk control and business case delivery.
- Support teams and contribute to the Council's Enterprise Strategy.
- Identify service improvements for efficiency and financial gains.
- Challenge existing methods for innovation and positive outcomes.
- Service Management:
- Continuously improve services and meet performance targets.
- Promote services to enhance the Council's profile.
- Financial Responsibilities:
- Manage projects within budgets and seek efficiency savings.
- Proactively control budgets for value and adhere to financial regulations.
- Serve as an authorized signatory for purchases.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings and maintain Customer Care standards.
- Uphold Equal Opportunities and comply with legislation.
- Demonstrate competency in risk and project management.
- Ensure health and safety compliance and contribute to safeguarding.
- Create and maintain accurate records.
