Come and support your local community by joining Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team as a Mobile School Crossing Patrol Officer.
Access to your own vehicle and business insurance is a must, as you will be required to travel to and from crossing sites, as required.
Support schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its surrounding locations.
We are looking for a punctual and reliable individual, who is approachable and enjoys engaging with the public. All uniforms, equipment and training will be provided.
We currently have vacancies in the following locations:
Basildon
Benfleet
Brentwood & Billericay
Chelmsford
Colchester
Harlow and Epping Forest
Maldon
Rochford and Castle Point
Each position is for 5 hours per week retainer paid, plus duty hours worked; with a holiday pay element included. You will need to be available to work during the 39 weeks of the academic year. Mileage and travel time is paid for this role in accordance to ECC’s Travel and Subsistence policy.
As part of employment with Essex County Council should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
