About the role

Senior Practitioner-Newly Qualified Social Worker Lead - North Essex

Permanent, Full Time

£45,217 to £54,395 per annum

Location: Colchester

Working Style: Community-based worker

Closing Date: 15th October 2024

Interview Date: 31st October 2024

As the “Senior Practitioner-Newly Qualified Social Worker Support" (SP-NQSW Support) you will provide ASYE expertise, support, and guidance to compliment that available from the team-based assessors to all NQSWs in the quadrant.

The post holder will preferably have completed the Practice Educator Certificate or be on the course, however relevant experience supporting NQSW's will also be considered.

The role will include developing group supervision sessions, additional workshops or providing bespoke support to NQSWs where there are specific developmental needs.

The "SP-NQSW Support" is expected to have a broad overview of all the NQSWS in the quadrant to ensure appropriate support is provided to all staff. It is anticipated they would then be directly responsible for assessing a few of the NQSW'S.

"I was lucky enough to be the NQSW Support Senior Practitioner for 18 months and thoroughly enjoyed the role. It is really rewarding to work with NQSW's and watch them flourish over their ASYE. It's a great opportunity to be creative in providing bespoke support to NQSW's. The flexibility of the role will allow you to find a good balance between practice education and visits/direct work with families.

The role will support you in developing your own skills in training/mentoring, the application of theory to practice, providing reflective supervision, supporting/assessing/developing NQSWS, and quality assurance, providing an excellent springboard for developing your career in social work."
