Discover Tendring: A District of Sunshine and Innovation

Join us in Tendring, a district renowned for its 36 miles of glorious Sunshine Coast and the finest sandy beaches in the East of England. Our district is a tapestry of diverse towns, each brimming with character—from the historic Port of Harwich, echoing the legacy of the Mayflower, to the vibrant Clacton seaside resort, home to the country’s largest pier. Walton and Frinton, Manningtree, and Brightlingsea are jewels in our crown, alongside our picturesque villages.

The Council: Leading with Vision and Community

At Tendring District Council, we are pioneers in community leadership, collaborating with partners like Essex County Council, the Police, Health, and central government to deliver exceptional services to our residents. Our council, a coalition of Independent, Labour, and Liberal Democrat Councillors, is committed to innovation and financial stability, even as we navigate the challenges of finding £3m in savings over the next three years.

Project Delivery: Shaping the Future

We are at the helm of transformative regional projects, including the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community and Freeport East. Our ambitious regeneration initiatives in Clacton and Harwich are set to enhance parking, social housing, public spaces, and educational facilities, marking the University of Essex’s inaugural presence in Clacton.
