Performance & Information Assistant - Braintree District Council
Braintree District Council
Fixed Term until March 2028, Full Time
From £26,622 to £29,787 per annum
Location: Braintree
Closing Date: 3rd August
Are you organised, detail-focused and confident working with data and information? We are looking for a proactive Performance and Information Assistant to join our Performance and Improvement Team on a fixed-term basis. You will support a small, busy team that helps the Council monitor performance, manage statutory information requests and maintain key published information.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. In this role, you will log, monitor and coordinate FOI and EIR requests to help ensure responses are completed within statutory timescales. You will maintain published information, including Transparency Code information, performance data, ward profiles and district statistics, and provide administrative and technical support for the Council’s performance management system, including assisting users and keeping records up to date.
You will also research and collate information to support reporting, benchmarking and district profile work, help identify relevant changes in legislation, policy, strategy and guidance, arrange meetings, record actions and support the production of regular reports for senior management.
Working closely with colleagues across the Council, you will handle information accurately, manage competing deadlines and provide helpful, professional support to staff at all levels.
You will bring strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you will be curious, willing to learn and confident using systems and working with data.
Experience in the public sector, an administrative support role or a similar information-focused environment would be helpful.
Knowledge of FOI and EIR legislation is desirable, but a methodical approach, good communication skills and a commitment to accurate, timely work are just as important.
