Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting a Cashier on a full-time, temporary basis.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site only.
The Opportunity:
To assist in the processing of the Income Management Collection Service on a daily basis, ensuring the Council’s policies and procedures are observed and maximising resources available/income due.
Role Accountabilities:
- Ensure that all monies received in whatever format are reconciled and deposited at bank.
- Ensure payments are efficiently processed.
- Liaison with the Council’s Banking provider, other agencies and Council officers with regard
to all matters relating to the Income Management System.
- To deal with all correspondence and enquiries relating to income management matters,
including the primary reasons for non-receipt of amounts due to the Council.
- To maintain proper records relevant to the receipt of money and reconciliation of all
prime records.
- Pass collections to security company, ensuring all security procedures are undertaken.
- Maintain high standards of customer care at all times and promote a culture of service excellence.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
- Provide administrative support to the needs of the service.
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel essential
- Ability to identify customer needs, demands and expectations and to adjust service to maximise these.
- A good general education
- Ability to work accurately in all aspects and time deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience of the banking service sector and processes used.
- Willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people both face to face and on the telephone.
- Ability to ensure tasks are completed to time and standard
- Accurate and methodically approach to tasks
