  • Chief Accountant (Deputy S151)

    The role of the Chief Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the Council’s financial control and governance framework, including by:

    Orchestrating and managing the Council’s annual closure of accounts process, through proactive planning and engagement with key stakeholders to ensure that the Council’s annual accounts are delivered in accordance with statutory timescales and without audit qualification.

  • Assistant Director – Waste and Recycling

    Reporting to the Director, Commercial and Assets, this key role will provide clear, authentic and inspirational leadership to the Waste and Recycling teams.

    The postholder will be responsible for assessing opportunities to drive value for money, improve customer service (both internal and external customers), to drive forward the organisational strategy and Member vision for Castle Point. This role will be responsible for translating and implementing the strategic goals of the council into operational delivery.

  • Flexible working hours: Monday to Thursday (08:45 to 17:15) and Friday (08:45 to 16:45) with a one-hour unpaid lunch break daily.
