ACCESS (A Collaboration of Central, Eastern and Southern Shires) brings together 11 like-minded Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Authorities. Founded in 2016, we have already enabled the collaborative investment of over £39bn of assets on behalf of Authorities representing more than 1.2 million members and 3,500 employers. Central to ACCESS is the contractual relationship with the regulated Operator who is responsible for arrangements of over £30bn invested in active mandates. The ACCESS Support Unit (ASU) is hosted by Essex County Council.

Your role

We’re looking for a Contracts Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of the multimillion pound Operator contract, in addition to other supplier contracts. As a leader you will provide support and guidance around the commercial aspects of contracts. You will find solutions to problems and cultivate productive supplier relationships. While you be working for ACCESS in the ASU you will be directly employed by Essex County Council.

About you

You’ll be either a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), a member of the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or have similar strong experience. With clear communication skills, you’ll be able to handle relationships across levels, influencing and negotiating confidently. You’ll have a solution focussed approach to problem solving and can write and present complex information clearly. Previous experience should include complex contract management, evaluation of supplier performance, Public Sector procurement and contract law. Ideally, you will have a public sector /local government background and familiarity with financial services and investment management.
