Are you ready to embark on a journey into the future of public transport? DigiGo, Essex's premier, on-demand shared public transport service, is on the lookout for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team of DigiGo Drivers.

We are recruiting for multiple part time positions on both morning and afternoon shifts.

  • Part Time Morning Hours - 19.6 hours per week
  • Part Time Afternoon Hours - 19.6 hours per week
  • Part Time Afternoon Hours - 15 hours per week

All positions operate on the rolling rota basis, 3 shifts per week with a mix of weekdays and weekends. You would expect to work no more than 2 weekend in an 8 weeks period. The salary will be pro rata based on the hours you are offer and you will also received a 10% flat rate allowance on top of your salary.

  • Get to know your passengers—from students to commuters, older individuals, and those with disabilities.
  • Navigate through diverse landscapes, from suburban areas to scenic rural Essex countryside.

Your Responsibilities

  • Log in and follow instructions from the digital app for navigation and passenger information.
  • Perform daily checks on your vehicle for safety, cleanliness, and roadworthiness.
  • Engage with passengers, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
  • Be the first point of contact, resolving queries or concerns whenever possible.
  • Take responsibility for passenger safety, including equipment securing and seatbelt usage.
  • Communicate effectively with your line manager for swift issue resolution.

What We're Looking For

  • Hold a valid driving license with a D1 entitlement—essential for the role.
  • Experience working with diverse customer backgrounds and needs.
  • Adaptable and flexible with a calm and professional approach.
  • Ability to work in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in using smartphones and/or tablets.
  • Ability to follow navigation and other instructions from the digital app.
  • Excellent communication and social skills in a customer-based setting.

If successful, you will require

  • An enhanced DBS check
  • To undertake training in the use of a specific digital app that is integral to the service
  • To undertake mandatory training; including MiDAS
  • Undertake an Essex County Council Driver’s assessment.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
