At Children and Families, we're not just a service; we're a force for positive change. Our culture is built on collaboration, integrity, and compassion, with a singular focus: promoting the development and well-being of children, young people, and their families while safeguarding them from neglect and abuse. We work hand in hand with partners, offering early help, family support, and effective social work interventions that empower families, remove obstacles, and pave the way for a brighter future.

The Heart of Support: Family Centres

In Essex, our Family Centres play a vital role in supporting fieldwork teams. They're the frontline in delivering assessments and interventions, addressing a spectrum of social work issues, from sexual abuse and domestic abuse to trauma. When required, they conduct parenting assessments, including those involving parents with additional needs, as directed by the court or under Public Law Outline. Beyond assessments, Family Centres offer various interventions that ignite positive change within families, equip adults with effective parenting skills, and bolster children's resilience, allowing them to remain with their families in safe environments.
