Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a Senior Building Control Officer on an initial 3-month temporary basis.
Key Accountabilities
We are looking for a qualified Senior Building Control Officer to contribute to the delivery of our Building Control team through undertaking assessing a range of Building Control applications suitable to your accreditation.
The role will involve, carrying out site inspections, liaising with clients and assessing developments against the Building Acts and Building Regulations government guidance and delivering a service in accordance with council policies and procedures. You may also be required to help play the important role of safety to the public by responding to notifications of dangerous and dilapidated structures and making sure appropriate action is taken to remove any danger.
**Please note that this post will be based on site a minimum of 4 days with regular travel around the district to complete inspections. This role is being offered on a 30 or 37 hours a week basis.**
The Experience You Will Bring
- Professional qualifications by one the chartered institutes with a specialism in Building Control
- Accreditation required to at least Building Safety Regulator Certificate 2A for both site inspections and plan checking
