Stats Assistant (Administration)

This role works as part of a team to deliver effective, administrative support in respect of Stats enquiries within Essex Highways.
Excellent customer, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to ensure high levels of customer service. An ability to accurately input and translate data is key to success.
You will be required to work on-site 1 day per week at the Ardleigh Depot, Harwich Road, Colchester CO7 7LT.
Essex Highways is responsible for managing and maintaining one of the largest highway networks in the country: 5,000 miles of roads and around 5,000 miles of footways. Essex Highways is a delivery partnership between Essex County Council and our contractual partner. As an Essex County Council employee you will work alongside our contractual partner to deliver road maintenance, street lighting, drainage and flooding, winter travel, road safety, traffic management, highway development, bridges and structures, grass and vegetation, bus stops and bus shelters, public rights of way and roads strategies for users of Essex highways.
Accountabilities
- Deliver high quality, efficient and effective administrative services across the function.
- Provide a clear, concise and timely service to customers.
- Consistently and accurately working within processes and, where appropriate, sharing knowledge and good practice, suggesting areas of potential improvement.
- Responsible for maintaining confidential records in line with Essex County Council/Essex Highways policies and procedures.
- Dealing with correspondence for the team or service in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
- Responsible for inputting and interpreting a range of data, producing reports and information, highlighting issues of concern as necessary.
- Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.
The Experience You Will Bring
- Educated to RQF level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent by experience.
- Proven ability to use computerised systems with a high level of speed and accuracy, with experience of MS Office suite of programmes and their practical application (use of databases would be an advantage).
- Experience of inputting and translating data sets, delivering information and report.
- Ability to communicate in a manner which is easily understood and tailored to meet a wide range of audiences.
- Experience of managing electronic or hard copy filing systems, with access to sensitive and/or personal information.
- Ability to identify new ways of working, responsive to change and able to adopt and promote this among colleagues.
