Please note this is a Full Time Fixed Term contract until 31st March 2025.

Hours of work 9:00 - 5:30pm Monday – Thursday, 9:00 - 4:30pm Friday.

This role is ‘Countywide’ and there will be the requirement to work out of any Essex County Council building when the business requires.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of Essex County Council’s large, dynamic and highly valued Business Support Team who work in specialised Business Centres across Essex promoting specialised knowledge and improving service and efficiencies. This particular role is providing support to the Adult Social Care service.

The Role:

As a Business Support Assistant in this integrated role working with the Countywide Duty Team, your role will include but not be limited to:

  • First point of contact for administration within the team.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls for the Countywide Duty Team from professionals, care providers, service users etc.
  • Directing calls and work to the appropriate teams/workers.
  • The gathering of information and utilising Mosaic to record information.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Sending out of information in line with GDPR.

Development Opportunities:

Increased knowledge of Adult Social Care teams. Potential to be able to work in a specialized area or gaining a number of skills required for Duty Facilitator roles or roles within Social Care Connects. You will have the opportunity to work independently, closely with teams and liaise with internal and external customers.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office essential
  • 1 year customer service experience essential
  • Telephony experience desirable
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Decision-making skills
  • Resilience
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and customer communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Attention to detail critical
