Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Basildon Council to recruit an Executive Liaison Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

We are looking for an experienced Executive Liaison Officer to provide high level confidential administrative and planning support to the Leader of the Council. Duties are varied and will include diary management, event co-ordination, preparation and coordination of meetings, managing casework, being first point of contact for Leader enquiries and ensuring the Leader is kept abreast of Council challenges and initiatives.

This role serves as a critical link between senior management and the Leader of the Council, ensuring alignment in decision-making and strategic planning.

You will have exceptional judgment, initiative, and political awareness to support the Leader in delivering the Council objectives effectively. You must have exceptional organisational, communication and administrative skills, be adaptable to change and able to manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced environment.

This role is hybrid with the need to be in the office 3/4 days a week depending on priorities and the needs of the Leader.
