Please note that this is a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment opportunity for a period of 18 months.
This role will be filled on a hybrid basis. This means you can work remotely part of the working week, with an expectation to attend the office at least 1 day per week. Any journeys to the office would be at your own expense. More specific details about this can be discussed at the interview stage should you be invited to interview.
The Opportunity
People Operations sits within the People & Transformation function at Essex County Council (ECC). People Operations delivers a high standard of service to both ECC employees and to external customers, with our employees and customers at the heart of what we do. Working collaboratively across the Organisation, People Operations is responsible for all people payments, resourcing, employee casework, first line HR queries, pre-employment vetting and business development of external services to our partners.
The Recruitment Technology Officer (RTO) will support the recruitment team, hiring managers and candidates. Providing customer focused and professional service, they will provide day to day operational support such as reviewing, approving, and rejecting requisition requests. The RTO will have a solid understanding of the recruitment process, legislation, and policy requirements, and ensure this is reflected in our applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment technologies. They will be confident in providing technical guidance and advise to the resourcing team to continuously improve the recruitment technology available.

The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
- Proven experience in recruitment technology management.
- A thorough understanding / superuser of applicant tracking systems (ATS), we use Cornerstone, including some previous system development work.
- A clear understanding of diversity and inclusion and reasonable adjustment legislation.
- Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint are essential.
Desirable:
- A passion for HR and resourcing best practice, with a keen focus on outstanding service and complex query resolution.
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail, a result orientated approach and continually seeking to improve. Ability to prioritise own workload and meet organisational deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience of dealing with customer queries and a track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Evidence of building effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
