Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Harlow Council to recruit a Housing Assistant on a full-time, temporary contract of up to 6 months.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work on-site only.

 

Harlow is a district of contrasts and an ideal location to both live and work. The town itself is thriving, with excellent shopping and leisure facilities for all ages. We have good road links to the M11 and M25 and excellent rail connections to London and Stansted Airport, just 35 minutes and 20 minutes away from Harlow respectively.

 

Job Purpose:

The Council is committed to the highest level of customer care and service delivery the post holder will work as part of the Area Housing Team and will assist the team with its delivery of the service in all aspects of housing management. Working in accordance with the Council’s agreed policies and working practices, delivering a first class service that is value for money and customer focused.

 

The Role:

To support and assist the work of the Area Housing team covering all aspects of housing management

To provide customers at the first point of contact appropriate advice and assistance/signposting/ and making referrals in all housing related enquiries, rents, tenancy matters, empty homes tenant participation enquiries etc

Undertake routine correspondence i.e. references building society, right to buy enquiries, transfer enquiries, and case work preparation as determined by Team Leader.

 

Duties Include but Not Limited To:

  • Diary Management
  • Minute Taking
  • Booking Rooms for Senior Management
  • Arranging Temporary Accommodation
  • Monitoring Shared Inboxes
  • Processing Invoices
