What does receiving a ‘Special Recognition Award’ mean to you personally?
To me this award means being valued by my employer and colleagues and being recognised for the attributes which I strive to achieve in my job and everyday life.
Can you share a key accomplishment that led to this recognition?
My commitment to promoting and supporting inclusion within ASC, as I was a Disability Quester and continue to be a workforce ambassador. I am passionate about inclusivity and sharing my lived experience.

What motivates you to consistently put in such hard work and dedication?
As a person with lived experience, it is really rewarding to be part of the services that make a difference to the lives of others and the community. I love learning, being around people and having the opportunity to thrive in an environment which supports equality, diversity and inclusion.
Who has been your biggest support or inspiration in your professional journey?
My biggest support is from my director, Jane Rigler who recognised my passion, determination and professionalism, and understood the journey I am on. I have also been inspired and mentored by Ruth Harrington who supported me in staying in continued employment after my paid placement.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or acknowledge for their support?
I would like to thank my team and Adult Leadership team for allowing me to observe meetings and take part in workshops which has boosted my confidence and allowed me to network and be proud of who I am in the workplace.
